I figured this is the equivalent to 128 nether blocks away from my portal so I will definitely generate a new nether portal under the ceiling, but sure enough the portal just takes me back to my main nether ceiling portal. At this point I just want a nether floor portal so I travel to 176, -1083 177, -1083 and build a new over world portal. I go 64 more overworld blocks out, rebuild a portal, I travel back to the nether ceiling. When I step through my portal doesn't create a new portal, it takes me to my nether ceiling portal even though I am more than 16 blocks in the nether and 128 block in the overworld. I convert these back to overworld coords by multiplying by 8 to get my new overworld coords (176,-192 184,-192), and build my new overworld portal at 183, -192 184,-192. Taking the coords of my ceiling portal (22,-7 23-7) and moving 17 blocks in the direction that I wish my new portal to generate I arrive at 22,-24 23,-24. From the information that I have gathered, if you want to generate a new nether portal you need to be 16/128 blocks from your original portal with respect to the realm that you are in. Now I am trying to create a new nether portal as close as possible that will give me access back to the nether floor because I have a blaze farm set up down there. These are the only two portals that exist right now, I have destroyed everything else. I have a nether portal in my base (177,-58 176,-58) it is linked to my nether roof (22,-7 23, -7). All of my overworld portals keep linking me to my nether ceiling regardless of distance that I am building my portals. They all give me ways to create more nether ceiling portals but none of them provide a way to get back to the floor. I've spent the last two days watching youtube tutorials and looking for explanations how this is done and none of them have really been able to help. I'm looking for some help setting up a network of portals that will give me access back to the nether floor. (#spoiler) = neat! When building a portal near the build limit in the Overworld, the portal in the Nether will be near the ceiling. When getting the coordinates from the F3 screen, you can ignore the decimals and round the numbers down. You can reverse this method and start in the Nether by swapping the "Overworld" and the "Nether.".Portals can link up to other portals within a 1024 block radius for the Overworld, or a 128 block radius for the Nether on both X and Z axis. When portals are not correctly linked, going through one portal in the Overworld may result in entering the Nether in another portal. While the portals don't have to be precisely lined up, it is best to align them up correctly to prevent linking issues. You can link up as many portals as you want, there is no limit.
